Be Labs, Inc. has welcomed 2021 by adding a Northern District of Texas case against Commscope (3:21-cv-00078) to a litigation campaign that seen defendants come and go at a brisk clip over the past three years. The two asserted patents generally relate to systems for wirelessly distributing media content throughout a “premises”, with infringement allegations throughout the campaign targeting routers and gateways compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards. In 2020, Be Labs sued over a dozen defendants, including, most recently, Accton, Fortinet, and TP-Link Technologies in mid-December.

Inventor-backed NPE Be Labs, Inc. has added two more defendants to its campaign over a pair of patents generally related to systems for wirelessly distributing media content throughout a “premises”. Cases against Rokland (1:19-cv-00111), sued in the Northern District of Florida, and Ubiquiti Networks (1:19-cv-05328) in the Southern District of New York, join active suits filed against Hitron Technologies (1:19-cv-01195) in the District of Colorado and Actiontec Electronics (2:19-cv-02636), ASRock (2:19-cv-02637), Edimax Computer (2:19-cv-02638), and Tenda Technology (2:19-cv-02639) in the Central District of California. Throughout its campaign, Be Labs has targeted routers and gateways compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards.

Allied Telesis (1:18-cv-01368), Calix (1:18-cv-01369), and Cisco (1:18-cv-01370) are the latest defendants to be added to the sole litigation campaign of inventor-backed NPE Be Labs, Inc. The two patents-in-suit generally relate to systems for wirelessly distributing media content throughout a “premises”. Throughout its campaign, Be Labs has targeted routers and gateways compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards. The accused products in the complaints against Allied Telesis and Cisco suits include enterprise-grade Wi-Fi access points, while the accused Calix products are its GigaCenter “service delivery center” devices, which offer Wi-Fi, are designed to provide mesh networking in conjunction with related Calix products not named in the complaint (Calix 804Mesh satellites and Support Cloud), and are meant for provision by Internet service providers.

Be Labs, Inc. has filed four more cases to the campaign that it began last July, suing ADTRAN (1:18-cv-00624), CradlePoint (1:18-cv-00625), Extreme Networks (1:18-cv-00626), and Relay2 (1:18-cv-00627) over two patents generally related to systems for wirelessly distributing media content throughout a “premises” (e.g., a home). The complaint targets the defendants’ manufacture and/or sale of wireless networking equipment—routers and gateways—compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards. The new suits follow cases filed earlier this year against Arcadyan Technology, NetComm Wireless, and Sagecomm (in January) and Altice (in February).

In the wake of two January dismissals in its only litigation campaign, Be Labs, Inc. has added a second wave of cases, suing three more manufacturers of home wireless networking equipment: Arcadyan Technology (1:18-cv-00181), NetComm Wireless (1:18-cv-00182), and Sagecomm (1:18-cv-00183). The two patents asserted in the campaign generally relate to systems for wirelessly distributing media content throughout a “premises” (e.g., a home). The defendants are accused of infringement through the manufacture and/or sale of home routers and gateways compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac and 802.11n Wi-Fi standards.
