SecureNet Solutions Group, LLC, an NPE based in Tallahassee, Florida, has filed suit against Microsoft (2:16-cv-01260), Panasonic (2:16-cv-01243), and Tyco (Sensormatic) (2:16-cv-01258), asserting five patents (7,737,837; 8,013,738; 8,130,098; 8,354,926; 9,344,616) generally related to correlating events from multiple sensors for security purposes. At issue in the complaints against Panasonic and Sensormatic are certain networked video security systems that include servers, software for face recognition and motion detection, and compatible cameras. Microsoft, meanwhile, is accused of infringement through its Aware Solution, a data analytics tool for law enforcement that collects and processes data from sensors (e.g., cameras, license plate readers, and gunshot detectors) along with information from emergency services.
