WiAV Solutions [NPE] filed three separate suits against Huawei, Pantech, and ZTE, alleging that the defendants’ mobile devices infringe seven patents. The patents-in-suit originated with Rockwell Semiconductor Systems and Conexant Systems and were assigned to WiAV Solutions by Skyworks Solutions and Mindspeed Technologies between September 2007 and November 2010. The last suit filed by WiAV (in 2011 against Dell and RIM) involved a different set of patents. 8/14, Eastern District of Virginia, assigned to Judge Liam O’Grady and referred to Magistrate Judge John F.
