Global Touch Solutions, LLC v. Apple Inc.

Global Touch Solutions (GTS) expanded its campaign, suing Apple, Microsoft, and Motorola Mobility and asserting two new patents in addition to the three asserted in previous suits (7,329,970, 7,498,749, 7,781,980, 7,994,726, 8,288,952). The ‘970, ‘749, and ‘980 patents were asserted in GTS’s previous suits, filed in July 2014, and all five of the patents in the current suits relate to user interface for a touch sensor. The complaints accuse defendants’ mobile devices, both phones and tablets, of infringing the asserted patents. The patents-in-suit originated with Azoteq; GTS acquired them in April 2013. RPX reviewed the patents-in-suit in December 2011 as part of an open market opportunity (Azoteq-Acq).
