Ganas [NPE] filed suit against Advanced Micro Devices, Alcoa, Ansys, Automatic Data Processing (ADP), Avaya, Burroughs Payment Systems, Cisco, Dell, Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, The Dun & Bradstreet Corp, F5 Networks, FedEx, Intersystems, Kaiser Permanente, Motorola Mobility, Nokia, Office Depot, Prudential Financial, Salesforce, Transunion, UnitedHealth Group, and Vocus, alleging infringment of three patents related to a system for communication over the internet and through a firewall that uses a simple object access communications protocol. Infringement contentions in the complaint link the defendants’ “overlapping” use of software products supplied by ADP, Dell, and Saleforceforce as the basis for joinder. Ganas has filed one prior suit since August 2010 against Adobe, Apple, AOL, Axibase, Charles Schwab, DirecTV, Dish DBS, E*Trade, Exinda Networks, Fidelity Brokerage Services, Firstrade Securities, HP, IBM, IControl, JPMorgan Chase, National Financial Services, Sabre Holdings, SAP, SAS Institute, Scottrade, TD Ameritrade, TiVo, Unicoi Systems, and Xerox. Matt Linderman is the named inventor on the patents-in-suit, and the patents were assigned to Lab 7 Networks upon being issued.
