Empire IP’s CreateAds filed two separate suits against Verizon and InMotion Hosting alleging that the defendants’ template-based websites infringe a patent related to the use of graphic design templates (5,535,320).  Last week, CreateAds asserted the ‘320 patent against seven other companies over template-based websites. Since November of 2012, CreateAds has filed 32 prior suits against multiple defendants, including AT&T, Google, HP, Intuit, and Yahoo. The patent-in-suit was assigned to Empire IP by Automated Reprographics Technologies in April 2012.
