IPVX Sues Vocalocity with Visual Voicemail Patent

IPVX Patent Holdings filed suit against Vocalocity alleging that the defendants’ voicemail products with visual voicemail capabilities infringe a patent related to video voicemail (5,572,576). Last month, IPVX asserted the ’576 patent against HP’s messaging products. Since November 2011, IPVX has filed over 25 prior suits against other VoIP providers, including 8×8, Apple, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, HTC, and Oracle. The patent-in-suit originated with Visual Access Technologies before being assigned to IPVX in May 2012. 2/7, Eastern District of New York, 1:13cv00733.
