Orientview Sues Shop It To Me

February 11, 2013

Orientview Technologies filed suit against Shop It To Me alleging that the defendants’ website that includes a recommended products list infringes a patent related to the presentation of viewer specific information (7,000,183). Last month, Orientview Technologies asserted the ’183 patent in a similar suit against Seven For All Mankind.  Since August 2012, Orientview Technologies has filed 5 separate suits against Iconix Brand Group, Just Fabulous, ShoeDazzle.com, Skymall, and Spy. The patent-in-suit originated with Firestar Systems, which later assigned the patent back to inventor Michael Crawford.  Crawford assigned the patent to Blue Hills Braintree in November 2009.  Orientview Technologies is the exclusive licensee of the patent.  The patent was litigated three times under an exclusive license by NPE Gildersleeve Holdings between January 2010 and February 2011.  2/8, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00221.
