Lumen View Technology (LVT) filed suit against Couchsurfing International alleging that defendants’ web-based system, which hosts a total of over 5 million “Couchsurfers” in more than 97,000 cities,  infringes a patent related to web auctions that facilitate evaluation between a client and vendor (8,069,073).  Since March 2012, LVT has asserted the same patent in nine prior suits against over 15 companies, including Avotus, Carrols Restaurant Group, Catchafire, College Bound Network, Careerimp, EducationDynamics, MomCorps Services, RealMatch, SnagAJob.com, and Zimride.  According to the complaint, LVT is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  2/1, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00171.
