Blue Spike Sues One More with Anti-Piracy Patents
- February 1, 2013
Blue Spike filed suit against Airborne Biometrics Group alleging that the defendant’s FaceFirst facial recognition biometric software solution infringes four patents related to monitoring and analyzing signals (7,346,472; 7,660,700; 7,949,494; and 8,214,175). Last week, Blue Spike asserted the same patents against 10 defendant companies, including Amano Cincinnati, AxxonSoft, Ingersoll-Rand, Smart Media Innovations, Hitachi, Iris IS Systems, Kronos, M2YS, MorphoTrak, and Tygart Technology. Since August 2012, Blue Spike has sued more than 100 defendants, and has successfully reached settlement agreements with biometric solutions providers BIO-Key International and Cross Match Technologies. The patents-in-suit were invented by Blue Spike’s founder Scott Moskowitz and were assigned to Blue Spike in November 2011. 1/31, Eastern District of Texas, Judge Michael H. Schneider, 6:2013cv00112.
