Sonic Industry Sues Helm Bank

Sonic Industry filed suit against Helm Bank alleging that the defendants’ hardware and software for “remotely setting limits on an information processing system” infringes a patent related to controlling in-bound information based on defined parameters (5,954,793).  Sonic Industry has filed 21 prior suits against other financial services companies, including Bancorp, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo and Capital One. Peter S. Stutman and J. Mark Miller are the named inventors on the patent-in-suit, which was subsequently assigned to an entity named Wilson Telemetry.  According to the complaint, Sonic Industry is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  1/23, Southern District of Florida, assigned to Kathleen M. Williams, 1:2013cv20240.
