Acacia’s Power Management Solutions Sues Qualcomm

January 24, 2013

Power Management Solutions (PMS), a subsidiary of Acacia, filed suit against Qualcomm alleging that defendant’s integrated circuit products infringe a patent related to power management in integrated circuits (5,504,909). PMS has filed four prior suits since August 2011 asserting the ’909 patent against AMD, Freescale, Fujitsu, Nvidia, and Intel (with Marvell and Texas Instruments). According to the complaint, PMS is the owner of the patent-in-suit by assignment, although the record of assignment is not listed with the USPTO to date. Larry D. Webster and Ehud Prado are the named investors of the patent, which was originally assigned to Electronics Products in January 1994. 1/23, District of Delaware, 1:13cv00130.
