Patent Group Targets Under Armour in Latest ‘Screen Rotation’ Patent Suit

Patent Group filed suit against Under Armour alleging that the defendant’s website at www.underarmour.com infringes a patent related to website screen rotation (6,603,490). Since January 2012, Patent Group has asserted the ’490 patent over 20 times against defendants such as BMW, Hulu, Redbox, and Ticketmaster. Patent Group began filing suits in April 2010 accusing companies of falsely marking their products as covered by patents and filed almost 200 suits for false marking before filing its first patent infringement case in January 2012. Patent Group was assigned the patent-in-suit by the inventor John F. Coombs in July 2011. 1/23, Eastern District of Texas, Judge Rodney Gilstrap, 2:13cv00049.
