Lumen View Technology (LVT) filed suit against Careerimp alleging that the defendants’ website which facilitates an evaluation between prospective employers and job seekers infringes a patent related to web tools that facilitate an evaluation between one party and another (8,069,073). LVT has filed eight prior suits since March 2012 against Avotus, Captain D’s, Carrols Restaurant Group, CollegeBound, EducationConnection, EducationDynamics, Mom Corps Services, Snagajob.com, and Zimride. According to the complaint, LVT is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit, which was developed by Eileen Shapiro and Steven Mintz at DecisionSorter before being assigned to Dalton Sentry with three additional patents in September 2010. In November 2010, two other patents from the Dalton Sentry portfolio were asserted by Blackstone River against eHarmony, Humor Rainbow, Match.com, Matrima, Plentyoffish, and True Beginnings. That case was dismissed with prejudice in October 2011. 1/18, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00110.
