Swipe Innovations Sues Intuit and Five Other Companies with Payment System Patent
Swipe Innovations filed five separate suits against Bluebird, Cryptera, International Technologies & Systems, Intuit, and Pax Technology alleging that the defendants’ payment terminal products infringe a patent related to encrypting PIN pads (5,351,296). Since March 2012, Swipe has filed more than a dozen suits against other companies which provide secure payment terminals, including a suit against Chase Paymentech and TSYS in June.
