e.Digital Sues Fujifilm and Others with Flash Memory Technology Patents
e.Digital filed a new suit against joint-defendants Fujifilm, Best Buy, Brookstone, Crutchfield, Kmart, Sears, Target, and Wal-Mart alleging infringement of three patents related to the use of flash memory technologies (5,491,774; 5,742,737; 5,842,170). e.Digital has filed a total of sixteen suits, including a suit filed last week against AT&T, Pantech, US Cellular, and Verizon. A suit in 2008 against Avid Technology, Casio, LG Electronics, Nikon, Olympus, Samsung, and Sanyo was settled against all defendants, resulting in one-time licensing fees totaling $10.1 million.
