CallWave Sues Telovations

February 2, 2013

CallWave Communications filed suit against Telovations alleging that Telovations’ telecommunication service (Telovations Mobility) infringes a patent related to processing and placing telephone calls (8,351,591).  CallWave Communications has filed six prior suits since December 2012 against over five defendants including AT&T, Google, Research in Motion, RingCentral, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile and Verizon. The patent-in-suit was previously assigned to online video conferencing provider, Fuzebox.  This is the first time the patent-in-suit has been litigated by CallWave Communications.  In July 2012, media sources reported that Fuzebox was spinning out its patent portfolio for monetization as CallWave (Callwave was the former name of Fuzebox).  Richard Sanders, the CEO of CallWave Communication, co-founded the Boston office of law firm Cooley LLP, which was named as the correspondent on the assignment of the patent-in-suit.  1/11, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00074.
