Mobile Transformation Sues Mobile Gaming Company over Online Video Ads

January 15, 2013

Mobile Transformation filed suit against Sunstorm Games alleging that the defendant’s video game application infringes a patent related to a system that inserts static ads into online videos (6,351,736).  Mobile Transformation has filed over 25 prior suits since November 2011 against other mobile gaming companies, including Pocket Gems, Blip Networks, IGN, TNA Entertainment, and Buzzfeed. Several of these suits have been dismissed. According to the complaint, Mobile Transformation is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit, which originated with Adware LI and was assigned to Penobscot Prospect in November 2009.  RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as an open market opportunity (EverAd) in February 2009.  1/11, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00073.
