Orientview Technologies Sues ShoeDazzle.com

January 15, 2013

Orientview Technologies filed suit against ShoeDazzle.com alleging that the defendant’s website infringes a patent related to the presentation of viewer specific information (7,000,183).  Orientview Technologies has filed four prior suits since August 2012 against Iconix Brand Group, Just Fabulous, SkyMall, and Spy.  The patent-in-suit originated with Firestar Systems, which later assigned it back to inventor Michael Crawford.  Crawford assigned the patent to Blue Hills Braintree in November 2009.  According to the complaint, Orientview Technologies is the exclusive licensee of the patent-in-suit.  The patent-in-suit was litigated three times against more than 30 defendants including Amazon and Facebook under an exclusive licensee by Gildersleeve Holdings between January 2010 and February 2011.  RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as an open market opportunity (Firestar) in June 2009.  1/10, District of Delaware, 1:2013cv00065.
