Landmark Technology Targets Global Lifestyle Brands over Website Infringement

  • December 26, 2012

Landmark Technology filed suit against Fifth & Pacific Companies (formerly Liz Claiborne Inc.) and  its subsidiaries, Kate SpadeJuicy Couture, and Lucky Brand Dungarees, alleging that the defendants’ websites and electronic data interchange systems infringe two patents related to exchanging electronic business data with trading partners for ordering and receiving goods. According to the complaint, Landmark Technology is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit, one of which received a reexamination certificate confirming the validity of all original claims and allowing 22 additional claims.  Since 2008, Landmark has filed suit against dozens of retailers who conduct business through Internet websites.  12/20, Eastern District of Texas, assigned to Judge Leonard Davis, 6:2012cv00952.
