Amethyst IP Targets Makers of Consumer Electronics Geared Toward Juvenile and Family Safety

Amethyst IP filed two separate suits against jWIN Electronics and Mobi Technologies. The suit against jWIN alleges that jWIN’s computer case system, called the JWIN iCK836, infringes a patent related to a portable computer case (7,414,833). Mobi Technologies is accused of infringing a patent related to a baby monitoring system with recording capability (7,425,901) through its MobiCam Digital DXR. These are the first two patent infringement suits initiated by Amethyst IP. Jennifer Groover is the named inventor on the ‘901 patent, which was assigned to Amethyst IP in July 2012. Rungrith Kittayapong is the named inventor on the ‘833 patent, which was assigned to Amethyst IP in August 2012.  12/17, Eastern District of New York, assigned to Judge Sandra J.
