ArCzar Asserts Augmented Realty Patents against Variety of E-Commerce and Gaming Defendants

December 13, 2012

ArCzar filed five separate suits against Hasbro, IKEA, Nintendo, Sony and ZipRealty. The suits against Hasbro, IKEA and ZipRealty allege infringement of a single patent related to augmented reality and target Hasbro’s laser tag game as well as composite image generation on the IKEA and ZipRealty websites.  (ArCzar sued Yelp over the same patent last month.) The suits against Nintendo and Sony allege infringement of additional patents related to augmented reality and machine vision and target the defendants’ gaming systems. According to the complaint, ArCzar is the exclusive licensee of the patents-in-suit. RPX reviewed the patents as an open market opportunity (Geovector – Acq) in September 2009.  12/10, Eastern District of Texas, 2:2012cv00784; 2:2012cv00785; 2:2012cv00786; 2:2012cv00787; 2:2012cv00788.
