First New Acacia Campaign Since September Targets Broadcom with Skyworks Patents Acquired on the Open Market

December 6, 2012

Signal Enhancement Technologies, a subsidiary of Acacia Research, filed suit against Broadcom alleging that Broadcom’s BCM4330 single chip semiconductor device used in mobile wireless systems infringes two patents related to RF mixers and wireless transceivers.  This is the first patent infringement suit filed by Signal Enhancement and the first new Acacia campaign since September 2012.  The patents-in-suit were assigned to Acacia Research by Skyworks Solutions in September 2012.  RPX reviewed the patents-in-suit on the open market (Skyworks Receiver – OMA) in August 2012.  11/29, Central District of California, assigned to Judge David O.
