New Empire IP Entity Targets E-Commerce and Software Companies with Patent Acquired on the Open Market

CreateAds filed 11 separate suits against 1&1 Internet, Endurance International, FedEx, Google, HP, Intuit, Squarespace, Staples, Vistaprint, Web.com, and Yahoo alleging that the defendants’ software products and design websites infringe a patent related to the use of graphic design templates.  These are the first patent infringement suits filed by CreateAds.  The patent-in-suit was assigned to Empire IP by Automated Reprographic Technologies in April 2012.  RPX reviewed the patent as an open market opportunity (Frencken – Acq) in November 2010.  CreateAds is the 12th patent assertion entity formed by Empire IP since 2011. 11/29, District of Delaware, 1:2012cv01603, 1:2012cv01604, 1:2012cv01605, 1:2012cv01606, 1:2012cv01607, 1:2012cv01608, 1:2012cv01609, 1:2012cv01610, 1:2012cv01611, 1:2012cv01612, 1:2012cv01613.
