  • November 29, 2012

Intelligent Smart Phone Concepts filed suit against Apple alleging that Apple’s mobile handsets infringe a patent related to the attachment of two headsets to a mobile device.  This is the first patent infringement suit filed by Intelligent Smart Phone Concepts. The patent-in-suit was issued to Varia Mobile in 2008 and was assigned to Intelligent Smart Phone Concepts by Varia Holdings in October 2012. Varia Mobile was divested from Tegic Communications (an AOL property) in September 2007. Other patents from Varia Mobile have been asserted as “Varia Holdings.” 11/20, Northern District of California, assigned to Magistrate Judge Laurel Beeler, 3:2012cv05951.
