Cheetah Omni [NPE] filed suit against Alcatel-Lucent, Ciena, Fujitsu, Huawei, Nokia, and Tellabs over seven patents related to optical networking. Cheetah Omni, controlled by inventor Mohammed Islam, has filed eight prior suits against over 15 defendants including Verizon and Samsung, and won a $5.4 million judgment against Verizon in March 2011. 7/29, Eastern District of Texas, 6:2011cv00390.
