New NPE Targets Nine E-Commerce Site Operators with Patents Previously Offered on the Open Market
Interface IP Holdings filed nine separate suits against AOL, Avis, CNN, Delta Airlines, E*Trade, Kayak, Priceline.com, TripAdvisor, and Vanguard, alleging that the defendants’ websites infringe two patents related to width adjustment responsive to text entry width and auto-complete suggestions based on multiple sources. These are the first patent infringement suits initiated by Interface IP Holdings. The patents-in-suit originated from bankrupt entity, Call-Tell, and were assigned to Interface IP Holdings in August 2010.
