Princeton Digital Image Corporation filed suit against Electronic Arts (EA) and Harmonix Music Systems, alleging that the “Rock Band” game developed by Harmonix and published and distributed by EA infringes a patent related to the control of virtual environments in response to audio signals. Princeton Digital has filed five prior suits since January 2010 against Canon, Eastman Kodak, Facebook, Fujifilm, HP, ImageShack, Photobucket.com, Ricoh, Shutterfly, Xerox, and Yahoo. The patent-in-suit originated with Fakespace and was assigned to Princeton Digital Image Corporation by Visual Audio in December 2011. RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as an open market opportunity (Bolas–Acq) in April 2011. 11/13, District of Delaware, 1:2012cv01461.
