Intercarrier Communications, a subsidiary of Acacia Research Corporation, filed 13 separate suits against Apple, Broadsoft, Enflick, Glympse, Infinite Covergence Solutions, Interop Technologies, Iris Wireless, Kik Interactive, MobiWeb, RadiumOne, Transaction Network Services, Viber Media, and WhatsApp, alleging that the defendants’ products that provide messaging services on mobile phones and devices infringe a patent related to an intercarrier messaging service. These are the first patent infringement suits initiated by Intercarrier Communications.
