Telinit Sues Rebtel and RingCentral with Patent from Allied Security Trust

  • November 1, 2012

Telinit Technologies filed two separate suits against Rebtel and RingCentral, alleging that the defendants’ VoIP products infringe a patent related to initiating telephone calls using a data network.  Telinit filed seven prior suits earlier this month against British Telecommunications, Genband, JaJah, Match.com, M5 Networks, Microsoft, Ribbit, ShoreTel, Skype, Telefonica Europe, Trulia, Twilio, and Yahoo. RPX reviewed the Telinit patent on the open market twice- the first time when the portfolio was marketed by Mount Hamilton in 2009 and the second time when the portfolio was marketed by Patent Profit International on behalf of Allied Security Trust (Starnet) in 2010.  10/29, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00696; 2:2012cv00697.
