Leon Stambler filed six separate suits against Ameriprise, Barclays, Fifth Third Bank, First Citizens Bank, First National Bank of Nebraska, and Northern Trust Corporation, alleging that the defendants’ online banking products infringe one or two patents (depending on the defendant) related to transaction authentication.  Stambler has filed over 10 prior suits since February 2001 against over 150 defendants including Amazon, AT&T, Best Buy, Dell, Orbitz, Priceline, Sprint, Sprint Nextel, and Walgreen.  In August 2010, RPX obtained limited rights under the Stambler patents on behalf of clients.  10/23, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 2:2012cv00673; 2:2012cv00674; 2:2012cv00675; 2:2012cv00676; 2:2012cv00677; 2:2012cv00679.
