e.Digital Sues Diasonic Technology and Sec Tech Enterprises

October 23, 2012

e.Digital filed suit against Diasonic Technology and Sec Tech Enterprises, alleging that the defendants’ digital voice recorders and audio players infringe four patents related to a handheld record and playback device with flash memory, recording voice messages on flash memory, a flash memory file system, and editing in a handheld recorder.  e.Digital has filed two prior suits since March 2008 against over 10 companies including Canon, Casio, Coby, LG, Nikon, Olympus, Samsung, and Sanyo.  The patents-in-suit originated with Comp General Corporation, which changed its name to Norris Communications, and assigned the patents to e.Digital in March 1995.  10/19, Southern District of California, assigned to Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo and referred to Magistrate Judge William V. Gallo, 3:2012cv02543.
