Wi-LAN Sues Toshiba

October 17, 2012

Wi-LAN filed suit against Toshiba, alleging that Toshiba’s flat panel televisions infringe two patents related to signal processing and interlaced video display.  One of the patents-in-suit originated with Infineon and was later assigned to Wi-LAN in May 2009 and the other originated with Brooktree Broadband (a subsidiary of Conexant) and was assigned to Wi-LAN in December 2009.  RPX reviewed the Infineon patent as part of an open market opportunity sourced directly from Wi-LAN (WiLAN DTV-Acq) in November 2011.    10/15, Southern District of Florida, assigned to Senior Judge James Lawrence King, 1:2012cv23744.
