New NPE Files Suit against Clearwire with Patent Acquired on the Open Market

Griffin Technology Holdings filed suit against Clearwire, alleging that Clearwire’s mobile hotspot products infringe a patent related wireless base stations.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by Griffin Technology Holdings. RPX reviewed the patent-in-suit as part of an open market opportunity (IWICS) in February 2009.  An assignment recorded with the USPTO shows that IWICS granted a license to Griffin Technology Holdings in January 2012.  10/9, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01308.
