Bascom Research, a subsidiary of Lexington Technology Group (LTG), filed suits against Jive Software, LinkedIn and Broadvision, alleging that the defendants’ social networking platforms and related solutions infringe three patents related to document management on a network.  This is the first patent infringement suit initiated by Bascom Research.  Inventor Tom Bascom is the President and CTO of Bascom Research, as well as the CTO of LTG.  Bascom Research is monetizing a portfolio of six issued patents and four pending applications with IP Navigation (IPNav) acting as its licensing advisor and Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel as its contingency litigation team.  LGT’s CEO and COO are former IP Navigation executives Will Rosellini and Peter Hardigan.  10/3, Eastern District of Virginia, 1:2012cv01114; 1:2012cv01112; 1:2012cv01115.
