Preservation Technologies Sues Cablevision and ESPN

Preservation Technologies filed suit against Cablevision and ESPN, alleging that the defendants’ cable and online video services infringe six or seven patents (depending on the defendant) related to the cataloging and retrieval of videos.  In April 2012, RPX acquired sublicense rights to the Preservation Technology patents for clients and limited sublicense rights for a few additional companies until March 30, 2013. 9/14, Central District of California, assigned to Judge Cormac J.
