Telematics [NPE], a subsidiary of Acacia Research, filed suit against CarrierWeb, alleging that CarrierWeb’s ALWAYS-On Mobile Communications Platform infringes eight patents related to tracking vehicle location.  Telematics has filed three prior suits against over 25 defendants, including Blue Sky Network, Cellco Partnership, Cheetah Software Systems, Datatrac, FleetMatics USA, Geotab, Motorola, Nextel, OnStar, PROCON, SageQuest, Sprint, UPS, and Verizon.  The patents-in-suit were assigned to Acacia Patent Acquisition by 4Sameday Solutions in June 2006.  In August 2006, Acacia assigned the patents to Telematics.  9/6, Northern District of Georgia, assigned to Judge Richard W.
