TQP Development Files Two More Suits

September 6, 2012

TQP Development [NPE] filed two separate suits against Samsung and Victoria’s Secret, alleging that the defendants’ websites infringe a patent related to encrypted data transmission.  TQP, founded by Erich Spangenberg, has filed over 80 previous suits since December 2008 against over 100 defendants including Dell, Google, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Skype, and Sony. More than 65 of those suits have been filed in 2012 alone.  The patent-in-suit originated with Telequip and was assigned to The PACid Group in August 2008, just months before The PACid Group changed its name to TQP Development.  9/5, Eastern District of Texas, assigned to Judge Michael H. Schneider and referred to Magistrate Judge Caroline Craven, 2:2012cv00581, 2:2012cv00583.
