Powerline Innovations [NPE] filed two separate suits against Comtrend, IC Intracom, Lantiq, Marvell, and Metanoia, alleging the defendants’ products that employ methods for establishing control relationships between plural devices in a home electrical system infringe a patent related to controlling networked devices.  Powerline has filed six prior suits since August 2011 against over 45 defendants including ASUS, Belkin, Broadcom, Cisco, Logitech, Motorola Mobility, NETGEAR, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Sharp, STMicro and Western Digital. Philip Zimmerman is the named inventor on the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Powerline by Cyberlynx in July 2011.  Powerline is represented by Hao Ni.  9/4, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00596; 6:2012cv00597.
