August 31, 2012 – Portal Technologies, a subsidiary of Acacia Research, announced that it had entered into a license and settlement agreement with AOL. In September 2011, Portal Technologies filed suit against AOL, alleging that AOL’s website infringes a patent related to customized home pages.
