Blue Spike Sues BIO-Key International, Tune Sat, and Vercury

Blue Spike [NPE] filed three separate suits against BIO-Key International, Tune Sat, and Vercury, alleging that the defendants’ fingerprint-based biometric software, content management software, and software for detecting and monitoring audio content infringes four patents related to monitoring and analyzing systems.  One of the in-suit patents (’175) was issued last month.  Blue Spike has filed eight prior suits since April 2004 against Echo Nest, Free Stream Media, iPharroJVCPanasonic, Peer Media Technologies, Shazam EntertainmentTexas InstrumentsToshiba, and Viggle.  The suit against JVC, Panasonic, and Toshiba was dismissed without prejudice in November 2005.   8/15, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00531, 6:2012cv00533, 6:2012cv00534.
