Blue Spike Sues Echo Nest, Free Stream Media, and Peer Media Technologies

Blue Spike [NPE] filed three separate suits against Echo Nest, Free Stream Media, and Peer Media Technologies, alleging that the defendants’ applications and systems that are used with smartphone, tablet, smart TV, and set-top box devices infringe four patents related to monitoring and analyzing systems.  One of the in-suit patents (’175) was issued last month.  Blue Spike has filed five prior suits since April 2004 against iPharro, JVC, Panasonic, Shazam Entertainment, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, and Viggle.  The suit against JVC, Panasonic, and Toshiba was dismissed without prejudice in November 2005. 8/14, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00527; 6:2012cv00528; 6:2012cv00529.
