August 14, 2012 – Market research firm, Gartner reports that worldwide mobile phones sales reached 419 million units in Q2 2012, a 2.3% year-over-year decline. Samsung led the smartphone market with 21.6%, and this quarter’s growth was driven by record sales of Galaxy smartphones. Nokia, Apple, ZTE, LG, and Huawei followed Samsung’s lead with 19.9%, 6.9%, 4.3%, 3.4%, and 2.6% market share, respectively.
