Blue Spike [NPE] filed three separate suits against iPharro Media, Shazam Entertainment, and Texas Instruments, alleging that the defendants’ respective  products for digital asset management, media identification, and fingerprint biometrics infringe four patents related to monitoring and analyzing signals.  One of the in-suit patents, 8,214,175, was issued last month.  Blue Spike filed one prior suit in 2004 (asserting different patents) against JVC, Panasonic, and Toshiba that was dismissed without prejudice in November 2005.  8/9, Eastern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 6:2012cv00499; 6:2012cv00500; 6:2012cv00502.
