Semcon Tech [NPE] filed suit against GlobalFoundries, alleging that GlobalFoundries’ integrated circuits infringe two patents related to finishing processes for semiconductor components.  Semcon Tech has filed over 10 prior suits since March 2012 against Cabot Microelectronics, Freescale Semiconductor, Fujifilm Electronic Materials, IBM, Intel, Lightwire, Micron, Qualcomm, Samsung, Texas Instruments, and Xilinx.  Charles Molnar is the named inventor on the patents-in-suit, which he assigned to Semcon Tech in November 2011.  The patents-in-suit are two of 22 issued patents that RPX reviewed as an open market opportunity (Molnar) in May 2011.  8/7, District of Delaware, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01021.
