InterDigital Sues Nokia, Huawei, and ZTE

InterDigital [NPE] filed suit against Nokia, Huawei, and ZTE over seven patents related to wireless devices with 3G capabilities. InterDigital filed a concurrent complaint against Nokia, Huawei, and ZTE at the International Trade Commission.  The company holds over 1,500 US patents and claims on its website to have license agreements with almost 40 manufacturers of wireless equipment, including Apple, LG, NEC, Sharp, RIM, Ericsson, HTC, Nokia, Samsung, and Sony-Ericsson. In July 2011 InterDigital issued a press release stating that it was exploring “potential strategic alternatives for the company, which may include a sale,” and Bloomberg reported that Google and Apple are in discussions with the company.  7/26, District of Delaware, 1:2011cv00654.
