Flatworld Interactives LLC filed suit (1:12-cv-00964) against LG Electronics, alleging that LGE’s smartphones and tablets infringe a single patent (RE,43,318) generally related to manipulation of an image on a display. Flatworld has filed two prior suits since April 2012 against Apple and Samsung. According to the complaint, Flatworld was formed in January 2007 for the purpose of promoting and commercializing the patent-in-suit, which was assigned to Flatworld by inventor Milekic Slavoljub in October 2011.
