Data Carriers Sues Two Dozen More Companies with Patent from Symantec

Data Carriers [NPE] filed 24 separate suits against Archos, AT&T, Buy.com, CDW, Flixster, Home Depot, Hulu, Johnson & Johnson, LinkedIn, Monster Worldwide, Netflix, Newegg, Office Depot, Orbitz, Overstock.com, SAP, Sears, Staples, Target, TripAdvisor, Vizio, Walgreen, Wal-Mart, and Yelp, alleging that the defendants’ websites, smartphones, and other electronic devices infringe a patent related to feature presentation based on user input in a computing system. Data Carriers previously filed 24 cases involving the same patent-in-suit in March 2012 against Acer, Amazon, Apple, ASUS, Barnes & Noble, Dell, Fujitsu, Futurewei, Garmin, HP, HTC, Lenovo, LG, MiTAC, Motorola, Motorola Mobility, Nintendo, Nokia, Pantech Wireless, Pioneer, RIM, Samsung, Sony, TomTom, and Toshiba. The patent-in-suit was issued to Symantec in February 1995 and was assigned to Data Carriers by Symantec in February 2012. The assignment history indicates that Data Carriers recently shared an address with various Erich Spangenberg associated entities including InterAD, PACid Group, TS Media Tech IP, and Vigilos.
