RLIS [NPE] filed two separate suits against Allscripts and Cerner, alleging that the defendants’ electronic medical records (EMR) products infringe a patent related to a system for tracking medical records.  These are the first two patent infringement suits initiated by RLIS.  Dr. James Ross Jr. co-founded RLIS in 1993, serves as the director and president, and is one of the co-inventors named on the patent-in-suit.   7/11, Southern District of Texas, no judge yet assigned, 3:2012cv00208, 3:2012cv00209.
