RecogniCorp [NPE] filed suit against Liberty Media Corporation, Manga Entertainment, and Starz Entertainment, alleging that the Magna Avatar Maker caricature design tool infringes a patent related to composite image customization.  Manga Entertainment is a subsidiary of Starz Media, which is a subsidiary of Liberty Media. RecogniCorp has filed four prior suits since December 2011 against Data Design Interactive, Oakley Capital Private Equity, Nintendo and Vistaprint.  The patent-in-suit originated with Interquest and was assigned to RecogniCorp by its parent entity, Apache Innovations in November 2011.  7/9, District of Colorado, no judge yet assigned, 1:2012cv01771.
